0-000 Approaching Fracture Density: Anisotropic Gradient = Fracture Density?

چکیده

For optimal hydrocarbon recovery from fractured reservoirs, a critical issue is to gain an accurate understanding of the natural fracture system. Currently, fracture characterization using amplitude based technologies is routinely performed relying on amplitude versus angle/offset (AVA/AVO) and azimuth (AVAZ) to exploit anisotropic gradient behavior, which is today commonly used in the industry as fracture density and is also treated as the principal and proportional cause of anisotropy strength. In using anisotropic gradient as fracture density, except for Rüger conditions we realized that two other implicit assumptions are made: there is a constant pulse earth response, and; there is an equality between measured anisotropic gradient and true degree of anisotropy. In reality earth response is band-limited and exhibits X-Y-T dependence. We will show that these assumptions can lead to dominant artificial effects which may seriously compromise interpretation of seismically derived fracture density.

Creep Transition in a Thin Rotating Disc Having Variable Density with Inclusion

Creep stresses and strain rates have been obtained for a thin rotating disc having variable density with inclusion by using Seth’s transition theory. The density of the disc is assumed to vary radially, i.e. ( ) 0 / m r b ρ ρ − = ; 0 ρ and m being real positive constants. It has been observed that a disc, whose density increases radially, rotates at higher angular speed, thus decreasing the pos...

Lower Bone Mineral Density is Associated with Intertrochanteric Hip Fracture

Background: A better understanding of how bone mineral density and vitamin D levels are associated with femoralneck and intertrochanteric hip fractures may help inform healthcare providers. We asked: 1) In patients age ≥ 55 years,is there a difference in quantitative ultrasound of the heel (QUS) t-score between patients with fractures of the femoralneck and those with fractures of the intertroc...

Effects of Fractured Reservoir Elastic Properties on Azimuthal Avo

Aligned vertical fractures introduce velocity anisotropy which is directly related to parameters, such as fracture density, fracture shape and fracture contents. Effective medium models allow us to study qPand qS-wave velocity anisotropy in rocks with aligned vertical fractures, intersecting fracture sets and aligned fractures with smallscale porosity. Spatially varying fracture density distrib...

Asymptotic analysis of microscopic impenetrability constraints for atomistic systems

In this paper we analyze a two-dimensional discrete model of nearestneighbour Lennard-Jones interactions under the microscopical constraint that points on a lattice triangle maintain their order. This can be understood as a microscopical non-interpenetration constraint and amounts to the positiveness of the determinant of the gradient of the piecewiseaffine interpolations of the discrete displa...

Relationship between Bone Mineral Density and Serum Vitamin D with Low Energy Hip and Distal Radius Fractures: A Case-Control Study

Background: The main purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between serum vitamin D and the status of bone mineral density in patients with low-energy hip and distal radius fracture. Methods: This retrospective case-control study was performed between January 2013 and January 2014. Participants aged 55 years or older were divided to case group including 85 patients with lo...
